“Public service is not a job - it’s a commitment to the people you serve. I am proud of my accomplishments as a legislator, but I’m even more proud to help feed those in need, clean up our beaches, and make our parks safe for our keiki. If you have a community service project in mind, please reach out to me and we will get it done together!” - Representative Daniel Holt

Representative Daniel Holt is dedicated to make the community where he was born and raised, as well as the entire state of Hawaii, a better place to live for all its residents. For the first six years of his career in the Hawaii State House of Representatives he represented District 29, which included Kalihi, Palama, Iwilei and Chinatown and currently serves as the Vice Chairman of the Economic Development committee as well as a member of both the Finance committee and the Labor & Tourism committee. In Representative Holt’s first three terms as a legislator, he has taken a strong stance against crime in his communities as well as advocating for increased funding for social services for our most vulnerable populations.

Daniel is a graduate of the Kapalama Campus of Kamehameha Schools and later furthered his education at the University of the Pacific where he earned a Bachelor's of Science in Business Administration.

The Holt 'Ohana has been deeply rooted in the Kalihi community for three generations, living in the same family home for well over 50 years. His father is former Hawaii State Legislator Milton Holt who represented Kapalama, Kalihi, 'Alewa Heights, and Chinatown as both a Representative and Senator between 1978 to 1996. Representative Daniel Holt is a member of the Kalihi Palama Hawaiian Civic Club and formerly served as the Chairman of the Kalihi Palama Neighborhood Board.

After returning home from college, Daniel worked at Horizon Lines (now PASHA) for a couple of years before beginning his journey at the legislature.
